Does it work as advertised?
Below is one of the successful reports from a blogger who started using Long Tail Pro for keyword research:
The tool is more SEO-friendly than just a keyword research tool, as it is created with tons of features. Here are a few of the features that will make you want to try it right away:

After creating the campaign, it is very simple, as the rest of the LTP interface (LongTailPro) is easy to use and is self explanatory.
Add seed keyword:
This is where you will start researching keywords.
You can use it for your current website or you can use it for finding a new micro niche site. I want you to pay special attention to the filter section, because here you will find keywords based on CPC.
You can specify a minimum CPC for keywords.
If you want to find long tail, you should select “Words” and enter the minimum number of words to search.
For example, I use seed keywords as “Afiliate marketing“. (Affiliate or Adsense: Which is the best option for you)
Click on “Generate Keywords”, and Long Tail Pro will start doing all the hard work for you. It will take a few minutes to give you the results, so in the meantime, take a regular cup of coffee.
Here’s what my results page appears. It has found many keywords based on my filter (CPC):
Here you can sort lists based on CPC, local & global search. Before you move forward, filter out irrelevant keywords by clicking on the “X”. This will help you organize and keep the keyword list clean.
Now click on any keyword that you find useful for your micro niche sites and it will take you to the competition analysis page.
When you are in a competitive niche, you need to pay attention to specific factors.
For example, it will be easier to stay higher than any competition with fewer backlinks and domain authority.
Long Tail Pro Competitor Analysis allows you to test all the important details.
Notice the screenshot below and try to see how easy it is to find a “low hanging” keyword that can easily benefit your website.
That is how you can find a list of highly profitable keywords for your niche site.
Once you’re done repeating this process several times, go back to “Keyword Research” and click “Export” to export your final keywords to an Excel file.
